Known as an American actor, Lukas Haas is also a musician. Jaas was born in California to a family of artists. It was at a really young age that Haas was discovered as a talent in acting by casting director Margery Simkin. His first appearance was as a child in 1983 for the nuclear holocaust film Testament. When he turned eight, Haas grew in fame after having appeared in the film Witness. In Witness, Haas played the role of an Amish boy who had been the only witness to a police officer’s murder. He received critical acclaim for his performance in the film. After that, Haas appeared in other films like Lady in White and Solarbabies. He appeared in Music Box, as the 12 year old son of Jessica Lange’s character, and the grandson of an immigrant who is accused of being a war criminal. For his role in Music Box, Haas was nominated for the Young Artist Award. Haas also appeared in the films Alan and Naomi and Rambling Rose. Haas was nominated for an Emmy for his portrayal of Ryan While in the TV movie The Ryan White Story. This film talked about an American teenager who got AIDS through contaminated blood treatments for hemophilia. Haas also played in Waiting for Godot, Everyone Says I Love You, Mars Attacks!, and Breakfast Champions. Haas most recent work in acting was in 2018 for his role as an astronaut in First Man. Aside from acting, Haas is also known as the drummer and pianist for The Rogues. So far, Haas has composed parts of several film soundtracks, including that of Breakfast of Champions and Last Days.
