United Kingdom Luke Stoltman, known as 'The Highland Oak,' is a two-time Europe's Strongest Man, a five-time Scotland's Strongest Man, and a Britain's Strongest Man winner, establishing himself as a prominent figure in the world of professional strongman competitions.
Primal, a Glasgow-based commercial strength equipment brand, partnered with Luke Stoltman and his brother Tom. As part of the deal, their Stoltman Strength Centre received a significant upgrade and redesign to become a state-of-the-art facility. The brothers also became official brand ambassadors.

Born in Invergordon, Scotland, in 1984, Luke Stoltman developed an early interest in strength training. His inspiration stemmed from a family photograph of his Polish war refugee grandfather carrying a log. He started weight training at 15, initially focusing on bodybuilding before shifting to strongman. His competitive career began with a local deadlift win in 2011 at age 27, followed by a victory at ‘Highlands Strongest Man’ in 2012. These early successes, while still working offshore on oil rigs, prompted him to seriously pursue strongman. He debuted at Britain’s Strongest Man (BSM) in 2013, placing 9th, and then secured five consecutive Scotland’s Strongest Man titles from 2013 to 2017 while steadily improving his BSM rankings.
Stoltman’s international career began with his World’s Strongest Man (WSM) debut in 2016, following a strong performance at Europe’s Strongest Man (ESM) in 2015. Despite not reaching the WSM final in his early attempts due to work commitments affecting his training, he gained crucial experience. A pivotal moment occurred in 2019 when he left his oil and gas career to train full-time. This decision led to his first WSM final appearance, finishing 7th alongside his younger brother Tom, making them the first brothers to reach the WSM final, earning them the moniker ‘The World’s Strongest Brothers.’
His dedication culminated in his best year in 2021, at age 36, when he won Europe’s Strongest Man and the Giants Live World Tour Finals. That year, he also set a British record in the log press with a 221kg (487lb) lift. He continued to achieve podium finishes, including 3rd at the 2022 Arnold Strongman Classic and 2nd at the 2022 Europe’s Strongest Man. In 2024, he regained his Europe’s Strongest Man title and secured his first Britain’s Strongest Man title in 2025, further solidifying his status in the sport. Alongside his achievements, Luke also co-owns the Stoltman Strength Centre in Invergordon and has a significant media presence, including the ‘Stoltman Brothers’ YouTube channel and a published autobiography.
