Lynn Swann

Lynn Swann, born on March 7, 1952, established a distinguished career as a professional football player before venturing into broadcasting, politics, and sports administration. His journey in football began at the University of Southern California (USC), where he excelled as a wide receiver. Swann was a highly recruited athlete and made a significant impact during his college career. In 1974, he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the NFL Draft. This marked the beginning of a remarkable NFL career that saw him become a pivotal member of the Steelers’ dynasty in the 1970s, contributing to four Super Bowl victories (IX, X, XIII, and XIV).

His public service extended to a notable, albeit unsuccessful, run for Governor of Pennsylvania in 2006. In 2001, his significant contributions to professional football were recognized with his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He is also an inaugural member of the Steelers Hall of Honor.
