Born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised partially in New York City, Madison Thompson began her performing career at age ten in musical theater, taking on roles such as Ariel in “Footloose” and Brigitta in “The Sound of Music.” Her early interest in performance was nurtured by her parents, leading her to acting classes and eventually into the burgeoning film and TV industry in Atlanta. By 2018, she received a Shuler Award Nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Wendy in a school production of “Peter Pan,” highlighting her early talent and dedication to her craft.

Thompson’s professional acting career began to gain momentum in 2016 with appearances in TNT’s “Major Crimes” and Nickelodeon’s “Henry Danger.” She followed this with recurring roles in Fox’s “Shots Fired” (2017) and ABC’s “Kevin (Probably) Saves the World” (2018), and guest spots on “NCIS: New Orleans” and “Creepshow.” A significant turning point arrived in 2019 when she was cast as Erin Pierce in seasons three and four of Netflix’s Emmy Award-winning series “Ozark.” Originally set for two episodes, her role expanded to nine, showcasing her ability to handle complex characters alongside seasoned actors like Janet McTeer and under the direction of Jason Bateman.
