Mandy Sacs, formerly known as Mandy Rose in WWE, has not been inside a wrestling ring in any official capacity in nearly two years. That will change this coming Wednesday when she takes part in the first ever wrestling combine in Chicago. Amanda Rose Saccomanno, known professionally as Mandy Rose, was born on July 18, 1990, in Westchester County, New York. She is of Irish and Italian heritage and pursued a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology at Iona College. Before her career in professional wrestling, Saccomanno established herself in the competitive fitness and figure world. Her dedication led her to win first place in the World Bodybuilding Fitness & Fashion Boston Show in 2013 and subsequently be crowned the 2014 World Beauty Fitness & Fashion Bikini Champion. These early achievements showcased her discipline and competitive drive, laying the groundwork for her future endeavors.
Rose’s entry into mainstream entertainment began in 2015 as a contestant on WWE’s reality competition, “Tough Enough.” She finished as the runner-up and subsequently signed a five-year contract with WWE, debuting in their developmental territory, NXT, in January 2016. Her main roster debut followed in November 2017 as part of the faction Absolution, alongside Paige and Sonya Deville. Over the next few years, she was a prominent figure in WWE, participating in various high-profile matches including the first women’s Royal Rumble in 2018 and the Elimination Chamber match. Rose and Deville formed the tag team “Fire and Desire,” competing for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. A significant storyline in 2019-2020 involved a romance angle with Otis, culminating in a victory at WrestleMania 36. She also branched out into business, launching her beauty and skincare line, Amarose, and co-founding the virtual donut brand, DaMandyz Donutz, with Sonya Deville in 2022.
In July 2021, Rose returned to NXT, forming the dominant faction Toxic Attraction with Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne. This period marked a significant career turning point, as she adopted a new look and achieved her first championship title. In October 2021, she defeated Raquel González at Halloween Havoc to become the NXT Women’s Champion. She successfully defended her title against multiple competitors and, in September 2022, unified the NXT UK Women’s Championship with her title at Worlds Collide by defeating Meiko Satomura and Blair Davenport. Her reign as NXT Women’s Champion lasted an impressive 413 days before she lost the title to Roxanne Perez in December 2022. Rose was released from her WWE contract shortly after, and in late 2024, she is scheduled to participate in a wrestling combine, indicating a potential return to in-ring activities.
