Matt Hardy is a professional wrestler whose career has spanned three decades. Beginning in the early 1990’s Matt and his brother Jeff worked at several independent wrestling organizations before being signed by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1994.
Hardy initially always played a jobber, a wrestler who is designated to lose the match. However, things changed when Hardy and his brother teamed up to form the Hardy Boyz, a tag team duo, who won their first tag team match in 1999. The Hardy Boyz would wrestle together for the next two years, winning several championships and appearing at WrestleMania. Beginning in 2002 Hardy began appearing as himself more often, taking on the new persona, Matt Hardy: Version 1. Under this name he fought and defeated the Undertaker and appeared at the cruiserweight championship during WrestleMania XIX.
After briefly leaving the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) in 2005, Hardy made a return later that same year, participating in several high-profile feuds with former adversaries. The following year Hardy again teamed up with his brother to reunite the Hardy Boyz. Hardy also experienced a good deal of solo success, becoming the WWE United States Champion in 2008. Hardy left WWE in 2010 and returned to the independent circuit where he achieved significant success. During this period Hardy debuted his new persona, Broken, which achieved critical acclaim. Hardy later reunited with his brother and rejoined the WWE from 2017-2020. Hardy currently wrestles with All Elite Wrestling, appearing on their show, Wednesday Night Dynamite. Hardy can be found on his YouTube channel, MATTHARDYBRAND, which currently has 334,000 subscribers.
