Mani Love

Jahmani Swanson, widely recognized as Mani Love, was born in the Bronx, New York, on December 4th, 1985, and later raised in Harlem. Standing at 4 feet 5 inches (135 cm) due to being born with dwarfism, Swanson developed exceptional ball-handling skills, earning him the nickname “Mini Michael Jordan.” His early career saw him playing streetball against taller players, with numerous online videos showcasing his talent and gaining millions of views, which established him as an internet sensation. He further honed his basketball abilities at Monroe College, a junior college in the Bronx.

Swanson distinguished himself as a star player for the New York Towers, one of the most successful teams within the Dwarf Athletic Association of America. His dedication to the sport also led him to compete in the World Dwarf Games. A significant turning point in his career occurred in 2017 when he signed with the Harlem Globetrotters, joining their 2018 Amazing Feats of Basketball World Tour. Affectionately nicknamed “Hot Shot” by the team, he has since traveled globally with the Harlem Globetrotters, entertaining audiences with his unique playing style.

Beyond his professional playing career, Mani Love is committed to inspiring others. He frequently visits schools in various countries, including the UK, to encourage children to “dream big” and embrace their differences. His message emphasizes heart over height, demonstrating that physical stature does not limit athletic achievement or personal aspirations. In February 2025, he appeared on the game show ‘The Floor’.
