After building a formidable reputation on the Midwestern independent circuit as Samuray del Sol, Manny Rodriguez, known professionally as Kalisto, went on to establish himself as a dynamic force in professional wrestling. Beginning his formal training at Windy City Pro Wrestling in 2006, he quickly mastered both American and Mexican styles. Rodriguez joined Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide in 2011, where he was repackaged as Octagón Jr., the protégé of the renowned luchador Octagón.
Continuing his impressive run, Kalisto added another major title to his resume, winning the WWE Cruiserweight Championship in October 2017.
