Powerhouse alpine ski racer Marco Schwarz is a phenomenon on the slopes. Representing Austria, Schwarz has become a podium favourite. Defying the odds, Schwarz has faced down adversity after a terrifying landing on the Super-G at Banko. Not to be stopped, Schwarz’s fighting spirit had him back on the slopes within six months. Building on a successful youth career, Schwarz has become one of Austria’s greatest skiers. In the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics, Schwarz showed great promise as he won three incredible gold medals. Within a year of his World Cup debut at just 19 years old, Schwarz climbed his first World Cup podium. Fast forward to 2019, Schwarz claimed his first World Cup gold. Not only did he win the Parallel Slalom in Oslo, but Schwarz also had victory in the Combined at Wegen. Schwarz is also an integral member of the Austrian team. He helped score the bronze in the 2019 World Championship Slalom, and then the silver in the Team Event.
