Born on August 14, 1973, in Gaeta, Italy, Marco Traniello established a career in professional poker. Prior to his career as a poker player, he worked as a real estate agent and as a captain on an oil ship. He made his debut at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in 2005.
During the 2005 WSOP, Traniello achieved seven money finishes, tying for the most money finishes in that year’s series. Among these, he reached the final table of the $2,000 pot-limit hold’em event. He has also participated in the World Speed Poker Open in London and cashed in the $15,000 no-limit hold’em main event of the World Poker Tour Five Diamond World Poker Classic. In 2007, at the World Series of Poker, he advanced to the final table in the $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha event, finishing 5th and earning $156,435, which marked his largest single win at the time.
Traniello maintains an active presence in the poker community, contributing articles to Card Player Magazine and being affiliated with Marcel Lüske’s Circle of Outlaws. As of January 2015, his total live tournament winnings exceeded $700,000, with $489,220 attributed to his 27 cashes at the WSOP. He continues to compete in events such as the WSOP, with recent cashes in 2019.
