Maren Larae Morris is a widely renowned American Grammy Award winning country music singer, songwriter and producer. Her music is extremely popular, with fans all over the globe. She was born in Arlington Texas and studied at the University of North Texas. Morris started her recording career in 2005 and her first album was titled ‘Walk On’. In 2007 she brought out a second album ‘Maren’ and then in 2011 ‘Live Wire’.
In 2015 her ‘Maren Morris’ EP was top in the US Heat chart. With major label Columbia/Sony music she brought out ‘Hero’ in 2016 and ‘Girl’ in 2019 which achieved first position in the Top Country Albums chart.
In 2016 her first single ‘My Church’ reached number one in the Country Digital songs chart. Her career took off when she won a Grammy Award for Best Country Solo Performance. Her third single ‘I could Use a Love Song’ was No 1 in the US Country Airplay chart. Further popular hit songs are ‘The Middle’ and ‘The Bones’.
In 2016 she opened for Keith Urban on his ‘Rip Cord’ world tour. When describing her song writing she said that the words are “country” however she forges her own way and path with sound rather than copying others. Morris is also a member of a group called ‘The Highwomen’. She tours regularly across the country and beyond and was set to tour in 2020, which was unfortunately put back due to Covid-19.
