Marilyn Ghigliotti

Marilyn Ghigliotti was born on August 10, 1961, in New York City, New York, USA, to Puerto Rican parents, with her father having Italian ancestry. She spent her upbringing across New York, Long Island, and New Jersey alongside her siblings, Evelyn and Leonardo. Ghigliotti began her acting studies later in life at the Actors Training Institute in Red Bank, New Jersey, under the instruction of John Eyd, a member of the Actors Studio in New York. After approximately two years of training, she started auditioning for community theater productions in Southern New Jersey, appearing in numerous classic plays. This early stage experience solidified her commitment to acting.

Ghigliotti’s career milestone arrived when she was cast as Veronica Loughran in Kevin Smith’s critically acclaimed independent film “Clerks” in 1994, a role she landed after meeting co-star Brian O’Halloran during a community theater engagement. Her performance in “Clerks” established her presence in the film industry. She later reprised the role in “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot” (2019) and “Clerks III” (2022). Beyond acting, Ghigliotti has also contributed to the filmmaking process behind the camera, relocating to Los Angeles to pursue various aspects of the industry. In Los Angeles, she worked in salons and as a freelance hair and makeup artist, gaining experience in various production roles.

Throughout her career, Ghigliotti has accumulated diverse credits as an actress in films such as “Get a Job” (1998), “Alien Armageddon” (2011), “Starship: Rising” (2014), and “Rogue Warrior: Robot Fighter” (2016). Her television appearances include roles in “Suspense” (2015-2019) and “Astrid Clover” (2017). She has also expanded her work into producing and directing, notably producing and directing the short film “A Mother’s Love” (2019). Ghigliotti’s career demonstrates a sustained engagement with both on-screen performance and various technical and creative roles within film and television production.
