Marilyn Ghigliotti was born on August 10, 1961, in New York City, New York, USA, to Puerto Rican parents, with her father having Italian ancestry. She spent her upbringing across New York, Long Island, and New Jersey alongside her siblings, Evelyn and Leonardo. Ghigliotti began her acting studies later in life at the Actors Training Institute in Red Bank, New Jersey, under the instruction of John Eyd, a member of the Actors Studio in New York.
