Marina Maximilian Blumin

Marina Maximilian Blumin was born on December 15, 1987, in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukrainian SSR, USSR (now Dnipro, Ukraine). At the age of three, she immigrated to Israel with her parents. Her early life was immersed in music, studying piano with her mother, Ella, a classical pianist, and singing in a choir. She furthered her musical education at a conservatory where her mother taught. Blumin began performing at jazz clubs at fifteen under the mentorship of pianist Rick Birman, leading to performances at the Red Sea Jazz Festival in Eilat and collaborations with the ethnic-fusion-rock-jazz band Common Bond at various festivals and clubs.

Blumin gained significant public recognition in 2007 as the runner-up on the fifth season of the Israeli reality music competition show, Kokhav Nolad. Her performances on the show, which included renditions of Israeli pop and folk songs infused with jazz nuances, showcased her distinctive style. Following her success on Kokhav Nolad, she embarked on a career that blended music and acting. She released her debut English-language studio album, “Step into My World,” in 2013, followed by her Hebrew album, “Armonot Ashan,” in 2016. Her musical journey has continued with subsequent albums including “BiYakhad” (2021), “Late Bloomer” (2022), and “MiTok Mofa Psanter Live” (2024).

In her acting career, Blumin has appeared in various television productions. Early in her career, she featured in Cameri Theater productions such as Hanoch Levin’s “Requiem” and the musical “The Producers.” Her television roles include “Pillars of Smoke” (2009), “Weeping Susannah” (2009), “Barefoot” (2011), and “The First Family” (2011-2012). Her role as Hila Bashan in the political thriller “Fauda” (2019–2020) brought her broader international acclaim. She has also appeared in “Devils” (2022) and has upcoming projects like “Frequency of Fear” and “12 Hours in October” (2025), reflecting a continued presence in both music and acting.
