Marina Sirtis

Marina Sirtis is an English and American actress known for her role as Counselor Deanna Troi in the Star Trek franchise, an achievement that solidified her presence in science fiction and led to diverse acting and voice-over projects. After securing the iconic role of Counselor Deanna Troi in Star Trek: The Next Generation in 1987, Marina Sirtis became a defining presence in the science fiction genre, embodying the half-human, half-Betazoid empath for seven seasons and 176 episodes until 1994. A graduate of the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1976, Sirtis began her career in musical theater, repertory, and television in the UK. Before her move to Los Angeles in 1986, her early work included supporting roles in British films such as The Wicked Lady (1983), Blind Date (1984), and Death Wish 3 (1985).

Sirtis was recognized with a Best Actress award at the ShockerFest International Film Festival in 2004 for her performance in Spectres.
