Calu “Dignity” Rivera is widely considered the Argentinian “it-girl.” As a prominent model and actress, she was recognized for her contributions and was named the “Illustrious Citizen of Recreo.”
After studying at the National University of Córdoba, Rivero relocated to Buenos Aires and was taken under the wing of the critically-acclaimed Norman Briski. Soon after, she appeared in Son de Fierro. But it wasn’t until she was cast as Emma Taylor in Patito Feo that she became a household name. Proving herself in television, she starred in shows like Alguien que mi quiera, Campanas de la noche, Atrapados, Champs 12, El elegido, Dulce amor, and Mis amigos de siempre—the latter, leading to a Martín Fierro nomination. As for film, Rivero debuted on the big screen in the box office smash, Tesis sobre un homicidio, which was the most popular movie in the country for weeks. More recently, she appeared in El Sonido de los Tulipanes.
With Rivero’s rising popularity, she became a sought-after model, as well. Her beginning collaborations were with companies like Agatha Ruíz de la Padra, La Casa de las Botas, and Todo Moda, until she became the face of international brands like Nike and TOMS Shoes. She’d go on to model for highline brands like Chanel, Prada, Stella McCartney, and countless others. After establishing herself as a fashion icon, she even had the opportunity to design her own winter collection for Complot. It’s no wonder she’s graced the covers of HOLA! and Marie Claire Argentina.
Outside of entertainment, Rivero’s known for leading movements for women’s rights. Additionally, she cares about sustainable fashion, so she’s partnered with EcoAge by Livia Firth. Publications are eager to interview Rivero, which is why she’s been profiled in People, The New York Times, and Vogue, to name a few.
