Mariya Shkolna

Mariya Shkolna was born on October 28, 1997, in Kyiv, Ukraine. She initiated her archery career in 2009 and by 2010 was competing for the Ukrainian national team. Shkolna is a right-handed compound archer with a draw weight of 59 lbs. A significant career milestone occurred in 2015 when she was part of the Ukrainian women’s team that secured the first-ever medal in compound archery, and the inaugural gold medal overall for Ukraine, at the World Archery Championships in Copenhagen. This achievement marked her early success and established her presence in international archery competitions.

In 2017, Shkolna made a change in her representation, competing for Poland. During this period, she participated in prominent international events, including the 2017 World Games and the 2017 Summer Universiade as a member of Team Poland. Following this, Shkolna transitioned to become a member of the Luxembourgish national team. Her consistent performance continued, culminating in a bronze medal at the 2023 World Archery Championships in Berlin. This medal was earned in the mixed team event, where she partnered with Gilles Seywert. Her career trajectory demonstrates adaptability across different national teams while maintaining a high level of competitive success.
