Mark Brunell

From an influential NFL quarterback to a respected quarterbacks coach, Mark Brunell has built a career marked by leadership, resilience, and a deep understanding of the game. After earning the Rose Bowl MVP title in 1991 following a 46-34 victory against Iowa, Mark Brunell continued to cement his collegiate legacy by contributing to the University of Washington’s National Championship title the same year. He had previously led the Huskies to a dominant 31-0 victory over a ranked USC team in 1990 and started his second Rose Bowl game as a senior in 1992. Brunell was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 1993 NFL Draft.

Following his retirement from playing in 2011, Brunell successfully transitioned into coaching, leveraging his extensive understanding of the game. He initially served as a high school assistant and head coach, building foundational experience. Since 2021, Brunell has been serving as the quarterbacks coach for the Detroit Lions, a pivotal role he continues to hold in 2025, contributing to the development of elite talent within the NFL.
