He is also a two-time Olympian, and a gold, silver, and bronze medalist at the Pan American Games. He co-hosts the pro-wrestling radio show, Busted Open, on SiriusXM Fight Nation. He has also appeared as voice-over talent in the Disney animated series, Pickle & Peanut. He currently serves as a WWE Ambassador where he aids in corporate marketing, talent relations, recruitment, and training. In April 2018, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2018.
Born and raised in Texas, Henry was always set to become a strongman from a young age. His mother bought a set of weights for him when he was ten years old, and during his freshman year at High School, he was already able to squat 600 lb (270 kg), which was well over the school record. As an 18-year-old senior, he was named “the world’s strongest teenager” by the Los Angeles Times, and made it into the headlines in early 1990 for winning the National High School Powerlifting Championships and setting teenage lifting world records in the squat. And by the time he finished High School, Henry was a three-time Texas State champion with State and national records in all four powerlifting categories. Since he joined the WWE in 1996, he has been a WWE World Heavyweight Champion, an ECW World Heavyweight Champion, and a WWE European Champion. During his illustrious 21–year wresting career, he has participated in numerous WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, Survivor Series, and other pay-per-view events. He has also been an integral part of many creative storylines featuring wrestling legends such as, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, and Dave Bautista.
Henry regularly connects with his legions of dedicated fans and followers through Twitter and Facebook, posting videos and pictures of his professional and personal life. He also has his own official website, markhenry.live.
