Marques Brownlee

Marques Brownlee, known as MKBHD, established his reputation for practical, hands-on tech reviews with a viral video in November 2013, demonstrating the self-healing properties of the LG G Flex through various scratch tests. This early success built upon his foundation of uploading technology reviews to YouTube since January 2009, content which quickly garnered industry attention, including promotion from reputable tech site Engadget for his 2012 tour of the cloud storage service Insync. Further solidifying his respected voice in the tech industry, Brownlee conducted an interview with Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside in December 2013. Brownlee continued to expand his reach and influence, notably with a video review and scratch test of a rumored 4.7-inch sapphire display for the iPhone 6 in July 2014.

In February 2024, Brownlee joined everyday accessories company Ridge as a board member and Chief Creative Partner. Expanding his influence beyond digital content, he delivered a commencement speech at his alma mater, Stevens Institute of Technology, in May 2024, where he was also awarded an honorary doctorate of business administration. Demonstrating his expertise in artificial intelligence, Brownlee was named to the TIME100 Most Influential People in AI in September 2024, the same month he launched his Panels app.
