Rising Italian Alpine ski star Marta Bassino is fast becoming one of the world’s greatest Giant Slalom skiers. From Bassino’s two-year-old self donning her first pair of skis, she is now often at the top of the leaderboard. Not long off of the starting line, Bassino established her part in the Italian Federation’s permanent home team at the age of 17 years old. Bassino can now regularly be seen leaving her competitors in the dust as she soars down the slalom slopes.
Gaining momentum, Bassino claimed her first World Cup victory at Killington in November 2019 as she raced down the Giant Slalom. Not only did she become champion, but Bassino knocked the world’s number one out of the winning spot. Leading up to this career-defining moment, Bassino could often be found on the podium. Bassino’s very first World Cup podium came from her great Giant Slalom race at Sölden in 2016. With everything Bassino now touches turning to gold, she has truly found her stride in this thrilling, adrenaline-fuelled sport.
Active off of the slopes, Bassino has a wealth of sporting prowess under her belt.
