Mary Lynn Rajskub

Mary Lynn Rajskub was born on June 22, 1971, in Detroit, Michigan, stemming from Irish, Czech, and Polish heritage. She completed her education at Trenton High School in 1989 and subsequently pursued a painting major at Detroit’s College for Creative Studies. Her artistic journey continued at the San Francisco Art Institute, where she graduated as a painter while also delving into music and acting. Rajskub honed her performance skills as a stand-up comedian in various clubs before making her television debut in 1995 as an original cast member of the sketch comedy series, ‘Mr. Show with Bob and David.’ Following a brief hiatus, she returned to television in 1999, joining the cast of ‘Veronica’s Closet’ for 15 episodes.

Her career took a significant turn in the 2000s when she moved into more dramatic roles. In 2003, Rajskub joined the cast of the acclaimed television series ’24’ as analyst Chloe O’Brian. Her character quickly gained popularity, leading her to become a recurring cast member and ultimately the show’s leading female. This role solidified her presence in the television industry, earning her critical and audience recognition. Concurrently with her television success, Rajskub also appeared in various films such as ‘Magnolia’ (1999), ‘Man on the Moon’ (1999), and ‘Road Trip’ (2000).

Rajskub continued to expand her filmography with roles in ‘Mysterious Skin’ (2004), ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ (2002), and ‘Punch-Drunk Love’ (2002). She secured more prominent roles, including Janet Stone in ‘Firewall’ (2006) alongside Harrison Ford, and Pam in ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ (2006). Her contributions to comedy and acting were recognized with the Female Breakthrough Award in 2006. She also received two nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2005 and 2007. Beyond her acting career, Rajskub is a guitarist, performing in the comic duo “Girls Guitar Club,” and is also a painter whose works have been exhibited and sold at art auctions.
