Mathew Doan is a filmmaker from San Diego, California and is also a software engineer at Cameo. Doan is best friends with the founder of Cameo Devon Townsend and often appears alongside him in videos online, including on the “cameo boys do everything for less” Instagram page. Doan’s films and photography often feature surfing and outdoors adventures.

Born and raised in San Diego, Doan has always loved the coast and spent four years as a lifeguard with the North Island Lifeguard Service at Coronado, California from 2012 until 2016. After achieving a Bachelor of Science degree at San Diego State University he took on several graduated software engineering jobs before landing a dream software engineering role at Cameo, the platform that lets fans pay for personalised video messages from their favourite entertainers, athletes and actors.

Cameo was voted one of the 50 Most Genius Companies of 2018 in TIME Magazine, and Doan’s best friend and founder Devon Townsend was shot into the limelight taking his friends, including Doan, along for the ride. Doan and Townsend often post memes and videos to the “cameo boys do everything for less” Instagram site, illustrating the fun that goes on behind the scenes at the company. Doan has also appeared in videos on the YouTube site watched by millions of subscribers and which previously made Devon famous, Cody & Ko.
