Art Rooney II is a professional football executive and lawyer, currently serving as the owner and president of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He contributes to the NFL’s governance through various committee roles and actively participates in community initiatives. After being named team president of the Pittsburgh Steelers in May 2003, Art Rooney II went on to lead the franchise to two Super Bowl victories in Super Bowl XL (2005) and Super Bowl XLIII (2008), alongside an additional appearance in Super Bowl XLV (2010). His tenure as president also saw a pivotal transition of head coaches from Bill Cowher to Mike Tomlin in 2007, maintaining the teams competitive edge.

Recognizing his profound contributions to sports and business, Rooney was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Law from the University of Exeter in September 2024, an institution where he also studied in the summer of 1981.
