Matt Lanter

Matthew Mackendree Lanter was born on April 1, 1983, in Massillon, Ohio. At the age of eight, his family relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. During his youth, Lanter participated in baseball, football, and golf. He also served as a bat boy for the Atlanta Braves for two seasons. After graduating from Collins Hill High School in 2001, he attended a community college for two years before majoring in Sports Business at the University of Georgia. His career trajectory changed when he moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting, initially gaining public attention in 2004 as a contestant on the reality television series “Manhunt: The Search for America’s Most Gorgeous Male Model,” where he placed in the top 10.

Following his reality TV appearance, Lanter secured roles in various television series and films. Early career highlights include appearances in “Grey’s Anatomy,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Life,” “Big Love,” and “Monk.” A significant turning point in 2005 was his role as Horace Calloway, the first son, in the ABC political series “Commander in Chief.” In 2008, Lanter took on the lead voice role of Anakin Skywalker in the animated film “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” a role he continued in the subsequent TV series and other ‘Star Wars’ media, solidifying his presence in the franchise. He also starred in the feature film “Disaster Movie” and MGM’s “WarGames: The Dead Code” in 2008.

His career further developed with a major recurring role as Liam Court in The CW’s “90210,” becoming a series regular in its second season. Lanter showcased his versatility by starring in romantic comedies like “The Cutting Edge 3: Chasing the Dream” and thrillers like “The Roommate.” From 2016 to 2018, he played a lead role as Wyatt Logan in the sci-fi television series “Timeless.” More recently, he was cast as George Hutchence in the Netflix superhero series “Jupiter’s Legacy” in 2019, demonstrating his continued engagement in diverse acting projects.
