Matt Manuel is a highly gifted singer / songwriter and musical performer, who has recently made the exciting break into the world of Broadway. Manuel debuted in the production of Ain’t Too Proud, having made his professional acting debut in the Touring Cast of Motown: The Musical.
But Manuel also has an impressive vocal range and musical ability, and was previously a lead vocalist in the Simone Vitale orchestra, and the guest entertainer group, Evolution. Manuel is one of many performers who have found prominence in the stage production of American Idiot, while he also had a prominent role in the short film Akoma.
Manuel’s role in Ain’t Too Proud has been particularly well-received, with the musical documenting the story of The Temptations. Manuel took on the role of David Ruffin, which was the ideal role for this prodigiously gifted singer after he cut his teeth in Motown: The Musical.
With Ain’t Too Proud, Manuel joined a principal cast that included James Harkness as Paul Williams, Jawan M. Jackson as Melvin Franklin and Jelani Remy as Eddie Kendricks. The story follows The Temptations from the streets of Detroit to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Matt Manuel has also put his range of talents to good use by appearing as a male model in many adverts, and even some television roles. He lists gymnastics and general exercise among his hobbies, and is a highly active and engaging performer.
