Named one of LA Weeklys Comics to Watch in 2014, Matt McCarthy has cultivated a dynamic career as an accomplished comedian, writer, improviser, and actor across television, film, and stand-up comedy. McCarthy honed his skills in improvisation at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York, which led to early appearances as a contestant on the television show Cash Cab in 2006. His comedic presence was further showcased in commercials, starring in a St. Patrick’s Day campaign for Guinness in 2008 and portraying The Cable Guy in Verizon FiOs commercials in 2009.
Demonstrating his versatility, he hosted Action Pack on AMC with Nick Stevens in 2010 and acted in the feature film The Other Guys that same year. His stand-up comedy earned him spots on television in Live at Gotham and John Oliver’s New York Stand Up Show. Expanding his reach, McCarthy served as a creative writer for the WWE from 2011 to 2012.
