Max Hodges is an actor and reality television personality. He is mostly recognised for his time on the hit celebrity gossip show TMZ. He was simply known by fans as ‘the surfer dude’ He worked on the show from 2007 to 2013.
When he was 19 years old, he left his home in Santa Cruz and headed to Los Angeles to start his career. Before appearing on television, Hodges was a fashion model and started his career in television as a runner at Extra and when Harvey Levin started TMZ, he snatched Max right up making him one of the most famous faces on the show. He worked for many years doing clips clearance for TMZ, sifting through, and negotiating prices for videos for the website. He also starred on TMZ’s television show and sometimes chimed in on TMZ Live, a live-chat streamed on the website. In 2015, he appeared on the reality show The Millionaire Matchmaker with Patty Stanger, on Bravo. He gained such a huge reputation on TMZ, he was able to voice himself on Family Guy for an episode.
Now, Max owns his own business called Puppies Make Me Happy. The business also provides support to over 15 foundations that care for dogs. So far, his company has been able to donate $126,520 to animal rescue centers. This is a cause that is incredibly close to Max’s heart and he aims to continue to save more four-legged friends.
