McKenzie Lyng began her golf career at the age of 16, after a childhood focused on competitive softball. She pursued collegiate golf at Kent State University, where she earned a degree in Marketing. In March 2024, Lyng announced the endowment of a women’s golf scholarship at Kent State University, becoming the first women’s golf alumna to do so.
