As a freshman, he led the ‘Fab Five’ in scoring, setting a school record with 597 points, and concluded his collegiate career with over 1700 points, 400 rebounds, 400 assists, and 100 steals. Rose was recognized as a McDonald’s All-American in 1991 before being drafted 13th overall by the Denver Nuggets in the 1994 NBA draft. He made an immediate impact, averaging 8.2 points per game in his rookie season and earning a spot on the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 1995. Rose’s distinguished 13-season NBA career included a pivotal tenure with the Indiana Pacers, where he played an instrumental role in guiding the team to three consecutive Eastern Conference Finals appearances and the 2000 NBA Finals.

These include the National Civil Rights Museum Sports Legacy Award (2016) and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame’s Mannie Jackson Basketball’s Human Spirit Award (2016). He was inducted into the Detroit High School Hall of Fame (2013), the Michigan Basketball Hall of Fame (2017), and the American Basketball Hall of Fame (2019). Looking ahead, Rose is set to join NBC Sports in 2025 as an analyst for college basketball and TNT Sports for expanded NBA coverage, including ‘Inside the NBA’ and ‘March Madness’.
