Meagan Monique Good was born on August 8, 1981, in Panorama City, California. She began her career in commercials at the age of four, later securing extra roles in television shows like “Doogie Howser, M.D.” and “Amen.” At 13, Good was cast in her first film, the 1995 comedy “Friday.” Her performance as Cisely Batiste in Kasi Lemmons’ 1997 film “Eve’s Bayou” earned her critical recognition and two award nominations, including her first NAACP Image Award nomination. From 1998 to 2001, she played Nina on Nickelodeon’s TV show “Cousin Skeeter” and appeared in music videos for artists such as 50 Cent and Will Smith.
Good transitioned into more mature roles in the early 2000s, featuring in the action-drama “Biker Boyz” and the romantic-comedy “Deliver Us from Eva” in 2003. She starred in “D.E.B.S.” (2004), for which she received a Best Actress nomination at the 2005 Black Movie Awards. She also appeared in the horror film “Venom,” the neo-noir film “Brick” (2005), and co-starred with Bow Wow in “Roll Bounce.” In 2006, Good took on her first lead role as Coco in “Waist Deep.” She continued to build her filmography with roles in “Stomp the Yard” (2007), “One Missed Call” (2008), “The Love Guru” (2008), “Saw V” (2008), and “The Unborn” (2009).
In 2010, Good co-founded her production company, Freedom Bridge Entertainment. She was part of the ensemble cast in “Think Like a Man” (2012) and its sequel “Think Like a Man Too” (2014). From January to March 2013, she starred as Joanna Locasto in the NBC drama series “Deception.” Continuing her career progression, she notably appeared as the superhero version of Darla Dudley in the DCEU films “Shazam!” (2019) and “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” (2023). Good has expanded her work behind the camera, directing an episode of “Harlem” in 2023 and serving as executive producer on projects like “I’ll Never Let You Go” (2025) and “Terry McMillan Presents: Forever” (2024). She also co-produced and starred in Tyler Perry’s “Divorce in the Black” (2024), showcasing her versatile engagement within the entertainment industry.
