About

Meisa Kuroki, born Satsuki Shimabukuro on May 28, 1988, in Okinawa, Japan, began her career in the entertainment industry after being scouted in junior high school. She initially focused on modeling for publications like JJ Magazine. After graduating from the Okinawa Actors School in 2007, she expanded her activities into television, film, and music. Her acting debut came in 2004 on stage and in Fuji TV’s drama “Medaka.” In 2009, Kuroki received the Television Drama Academy Award and TV Life Drama Grand Prix for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Ninkyo Helper.”

Beyond acting, Kuroki released her debut single “Like This” in 2008, followed by her first extended play, “Hellcat,” in 2009. Her debut studio album, “Magazine,” released in 2011, reached number six on the Oricon charts. She also contributed to the soundtrack of the film “Crows Zero,” in which she appeared. Her music career continued with her second studio album, “Unlocked,” in 2012, which included the song “Wired Life,” an ending theme for the anime series “Blue Exorcist.”
