Tobey Maguire

Tobey Maguire is an acclaimed actor and film producer, known for his versatile performances and his ventures in film production. After a significant career advance in the mid-1990s, Tobey Maguire delivered a pivotal performance in Ang Lee’s 1997 film The Ice Storm, taking on a lead role that earned him critical recognition. His earlier professional work included a lead role in the FOX comedy Great Scott! in 1992 and his first feature film appearance in The Wizard (1989).

Material Pictures went on to produce Pawn Sacrifice (2014), in which Maguire also starred as chess grandmaster Bobby Fischer, and most recently, Babylon (2022). His acting career continued with acclaimed performances as Nick Carraway in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby (2013) and a voice role as Adult Tim in the animated hit The Boss Baby (2017). Maguire made a highly anticipated return to his career-defining role as Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), a reprisal that garnered widespread audience and critical acclaim. The same year, he served as an executive producer for the action film Nobody.

In 2022, he starred as James McKay and held an executive producer credit for Damien Chazelle’s Babylon. Most recently, Maguire took on the role of Nicolas in the 2023 Apple TV+ series Extrapolations, continuing to showcase his versatile talent across both acting and production.
