Meital Dohan is an Israeli actress, musician, writer, and activist, born on August 24, 1979, in Ra’anana, Israel. She began her career in the late 1990s, first joining the Israel Defense Forces theater in 1994 and later attending the Nissan Nativ acting school. During her studies, she received scholarships from the America Israel Cultural Foundation and quickly gained recognition for her theatrical work, including roles in major productions like \”Romeo and Juliet.\” Her early career in Israel saw her earn significant accolades, transitioning from stage to critically acclaimed film and television projects.
Dohan’s acting prowess was recognized with an Israeli Theater Award in 2000 for ‘Most Promising New Actress’ for her role in \”Best Friends\” at the Cameri Theater. This was followed by another Best Actress award at the Israeli Tony’s for her performance in Edna Mazia’s play \”Bad Children.\” Her film career took off in 2001 with \”Giraffes,\” which earned her an Israeli Oscar nomination in 2002.
