Meredith Marakovits, born on July 22, 1983, in Walnutport, Pennsylvania, established a career as a distinguished sports reporter and broadcaster. Her early athletic background included playing volleyball at Allentown Central Catholic High School, where she achieved Eastern Pennsylvania Conference MVP honors and first-team all-District 11 recognition. She continued her volleyball career on scholarship at La Salle University, graduating in 2005 with a degree in Communications. Collegiate injuries prompted her to explore sports broadcasting, an interest sparked by an internship at Fox Sports in Los Angeles, where she worked as a production assistant for the MLB on Fox pregame show.
Marakovits commenced her professional career in 2005 as a reporter and photographer for Service Electric in Allentown, Pennsylvania, covering local high school and college sports. She expanded her reach in 2006 by joining SportsTalk Philadelphia on 950 ESPN/97.5 The Fanatic as a radio personality. In 2008, she began covering baseball for Service Electric, focusing on the Philadelphia Phillies’ Double-A and Triple-A affiliates, the Reading Fightin Phils and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, respectively. During this period, she also accepted a segment on Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia’s “farm report,” covering minor league prospects. Her diverse experience continued with SportsNet New York (SNY), where she contributed to programs such as The Wheelhouse, Daily News Live, and GEICO Sportsnite. She also served as a Philadelphia 76ers sideline reporter and a fill-in anchor for Comcast SportsNet New England.
In 2012, Marakovits joined the YES Network as the New York Yankees clubhouse reporter, succeeding Kim Jones. In this role, she provides coverage for Yankees game telecasts, pre- and post-game shows, and contributes to Yankees Batting Practice Today and Yankees Hot Stove programs. Her contributions have earned her nine New York Emmy Awards, including two in 2023 for reporting and pre-game coverage, and another in 2024 for her role in the network’s season-long Yankees game coverage. From 2012 to 2017, she hosted The Joe Girardi Show for YES, actively revamping its format to include more personal, behind-the-scenes segments. In 2019, she was recognized by Cynopsis as one of the “Top Women in Sports” in the On-Air Talent category. In 2025, she began co-hosting the New York Yankees Official Podcast.
