Michael Keith Davis II, born on January 6, 1995, in Glendale, California, established a notable athletic career early on. During his time at Glendale High School, he excelled in both football and track and field, demonstrating remarkable speed by winning the Pacific League title in the 100-meter sprint three years consecutively and the 200-meter sprint four years in a row. He qualified for the California State Championship Meet for the 200m in his junior and senior years, finishing seventh in 2012 and fifth in 2013, alongside earning first-team All-CIF, league, and area honors for football. His formative years laid the groundwork for a disciplined approach to sports.
Davis continued his football journey at BYU from 2013 to 2016, where he accumulated 110 tackles and 17 pass break-ups. A significant moment in his college career was a game-changing interception and 40-yard return against Michigan State, contributing to a 31–14 upset victory. Despite being an undrafted free agent in the 2017 NFL Draft, Davis signed with the Los Angeles Chargers, a testament to his perseverance. He was initially waived but quickly brought back to the practice squad before being promoted to the active roster in September 2017. His career with the Chargers saw him making substantial contributions, including an interception returned for a touchdown against Tom Brady in 2020 and a three-year contract extension in 2021.
After several successful seasons with the Chargers, during which he was recognized for his Mexican heritage and served as a role model, Davis joined the Washington Commanders in March 2024. He played 15 games with two starts for the Commanders, accumulating 14 tackles and one pass deflection. In October 2025, Davis signed with the New Orleans Saints, continuing his professional career. Throughout his NFL tenure, Davis has demonstrated consistent performance, with career totals including 363 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, 70 pass deflections, and 8 interceptions, including one defensive touchdown.
