His foundational success began earlier, securing the 2013 North Carolina 4A 182-pound wrestling state championship and earning a third-place finish in 2012, alongside being a two-time placer at FloNationals. Transitioning to a robust post-collegiate career, Macchiavello quickly made an impact on the senior freestyle wrestling circuit while representing the United States. In 2018, he secured the U23 United States World Team Trials winner title at 92 kg, signaling his readiness for international competition.
He further distinguished himself in 2019 by becoming a first-time USA National Team member on the senior level, establishing his presence among the nation’s elite wrestlers. During this period, he honed his skills training with the esteemed Wolfpack Wrestling Club in Raleigh, North Carolina. Macchiavello continued his ascent in the international arena, delivering a standout year in 2023. He dominated the 92 kg weight class, winning both the prestigious US Open Championship and the Pan American Wrestling Championship in the same year.
These victories cemented his position as a top-tier competitor on the global stage. Currently, he trains and competes with the highly regarded Lehigh Valley Wrestling Club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, maintaining his rigorous preparation for major tournaments. Demonstrating consistent international excellence, Macchiavello secured consecutive gold medals at the Henri Deglane Grand Prix. He claimed the top spot at the 2024 Henri Deglane Grand Prix, competing at 97 kg, and followed this with another gold medal at the 2025 Henri Deglane Grand Prix at 92 kg.
These recent triumphs underscore his enduring performance and competitive prowess across varying weight classes in a demanding international schedule.
