Michael Medved

Michael Medved achieved widespread recognition with his first bestseller, ‘What Really Happened to the Class of ’65?’ (1976), which was subsequently adapted into an NBC weekly television series in 1978. His early career included impactful work as a speechwriter for Joseph Duffey’s U.S. Senate campaign and Congressman Ron Dellums, as well as coordinating recruitment campaigns for police departments in San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley. Building on his writing success, Medved published ‘The Shadow Presidents: The Secret History of the Chief Executives and Their Top Aides’ (1979), a comprehensive study that included interviews with chiefs of staff from presidents Truman to Ford.

Since 2007, he has also served as a Senior Fellow at the Discovery Institute, contributing to public discourse on science and culture. Medved remains a prominent voice in conservative media, regularly contributing op-ed pieces to ‘The Wall Street Journal’ and serving as a regular columnist for ‘USA Today’.
