Actor Michael Trevino is best known for his starring roles in the supernatural teen drama The Vampire Diaries and the sci-fi drama Roswell, New Mexico. A fan favourite, he has won two Teen Choice Awards, and has twice been nominated for an ALMA Award for his work.
Trevino’s screen debut came in drama series Summerland, and he went on to appear in series including Charmed, Without a Trace, CSI: Miami and Bones over the following years. He earned his first recurring role in The Riches, starring Minnie Driver and Eddie Izzard, and had further turns in CBS’s family drama Cane and The CW’s popular teen soap opera 90210. On the big screen, Trevino has appeared in crime thriller The Factory, and in Chinese action thriller Out of Control.
In 2009, Trevino came to global fame when he was cast in The CW’s much-hyped new teen drama The Vampire Diaries, based on L.J. Smith’s popular series of supernatural-themed books. Here he played high school football player and werewolf Tyler Lockwood through all eight seasons of the show, and also reprised the part in spin-off series The Originals. In 2019, he was announced as a main cast member in another adapted series for The CW – science fiction drama Roswell, New Mexico. The show was an immediate hit with audiences, and was renewed for a third run prior to the second season airing.
