Michaela Conlin is an American actress currently best known for playing forensic artist Angela Montenegro in nearly 250 episodes of the comedy-drama series Bones, which ran for 12 seasons on Fox between 2005 and 2017. She has subsequently had recurring roles as Sarah Nguyen in the first and second seasons of Yellowstone and Marine pilot Helena Webster in the second season of For All Mankind. Her movie credits include the likes of The Lincoln Lawyer and Bad Trip. Her upcoming film roles include the romantic drama One True Loves and a drama about the American opioid crisis called Junction.
Conlin was born in Pennsylvania in June 1978 to a Chinese mother and Irish father. She first began acting when she was seven years old and later studied for her BFA at the New York Tisch School of the Arts, also travelling to Europe to study experimental theatre in Amsterdam. She made her first TV appearances in 2001, and soon afterwards, she relocated to Los Angeles to embark on a screen acting career. Her first notable roles came when she was cast as the idealistic Dr Maggie Yang in an ABC drama called MDs, which only ran for one season but got Conlin up and running.
To date, Angela in Bones remains Conlin’s signature role. During her time on the show, she was nominated for an Asian Excellence Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her recent recurring roles have shown, however, that she is not going to be typecast and there are many more great characters for her to play.
