Michaela Dietz

Michaela Dietz was born on November 1, 1982, in Incheon, South Korea, and was subsequently adopted and raised in Cooperstown, New York. She pursued her higher education at Middlebury College, where she focused on International Studies with an emphasis on Economics. Her professional career in entertainment began in 2005. Starting with acting roles in television and short films, Dietz quickly transitioned into voice acting, where she found significant success.

Her breakthrough came with the role of Riff on the PBS children’s television series “Barney & Friends,” a character she voiced from 2006 to 2010. This was followed by a prominent role as Amethyst in Cartoon Network’s “Steven Universe,” a character she voiced from 2013 to 2019, and later reprised in “Steven Universe Future” and “Steven Universe: The Movie.” Dietz’s portrayal of Amethyst earned her critical acclaim and resonated deeply with audiences, particularly due to her personal connection as an adoptee informing the character’s narrative.

Dietz has since expanded her portfolio, lending her voice to various characters across major animation studios and video game franchises. Her notable roles include Dolly Dalmatian in Disney Channel’s “101 Dalmatian Street,” Vee in “The Owl House,” and Darryl McGee in “The Ghost and Molly McGee.” Her work in video games includes “Grand Theft Auto V,” “Steven Universe: Attack the Light,” “Lego Dimensions,” and “Fallout 76: Wastelanders.” She also lent her voice to the Netflix animated film “The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf” in 2021 as Tomas. Dietz continues to be an active and sought-after voice actress, with several upcoming projects including “Super Duper Bunny League” and “Long Story Short” in 2025.
