Italian snowboarder Michela Moioli is a Winter Olympic champion, a World Championships medal-winner, and a World Cup victor and overall No. 1. Moioli specialises in the snowboard cross, though she also previously raced in alpine events. As well as competing for Italy internationally, Moioli is attached to club CS Esercito and is coached by Luca Pozzolini.
Moioli made her debut at the Europa Cup in 2010, climbing her first podium several months later at Puy St. Vincent. She went on to have seven Top 3 Europa Cup finishes during 2012, including victories in Grasgehren and Breuil Cervinia, and finished the season as the circuit’s No. 2 women’s snowboardcross competitor. The same year, she earned her breakout at the Junior World Championships, finishing in third place to claim the bronze medal.
Moioli picked up her first podiums at the World Cup in 2013, reaching the Top 3 of the world’s most prestigious racing circuit the same year. She has since claimed the World Cup No. 1 spot on three occasions, and has recorded over a dozen victories across the globe. Elsewhere, she has medalled at three successive senior World Snowboarding Championships, taking bronzes at Kreischberg and Sierra Nevada, and earning a silver and a bronze at Park City in the team and individual events respectively. Meanwhile, having finished 6th at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, she grabbed a sensational victory in Pyeongchang in 2018, earning the Olympic title and a gold medal for her collection.
