Mickey Ambrose

Mickey Ambrose’s career in football began in 1979 when he was on the books at Charlton. He later moved to Chelsea in 1985, playing under John Neal and John Hollins. His playing career was cut short due to injury. Following his time as a player, Ambrose moved into scouting, working for prominent clubs such as Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. He also maintains associations with other clubs, including Queens Park Rangers. This period marked a transition from active play to a behind-the-scenes role within professional football.

Ambrose subsequently became the first UK Football Choreographer/Actor, directing football scenes for both television and film. He established the TV All Stars celebrity football team, using this platform to organize charity matches in a voluntary capacity. These matches were held at both Premiership and Football League stadiums, contributing to significant philanthropic efforts. His dedication to charity work was recognized in 2010 when he was the runner-up to Craig Lundberg in the News of the World Children’s Champion Awards for raising two million pounds for various charities. A notable achievement includes flying the Broadwater Farm Utd U13’s team to Tokyo for the Tokyo Cup in 2008 and securing an invitation for them to meet Prime Minister’s wife Sarah Brown at 10 Downing Street.

Beyond his work in football and charity, Ambrose has also engaged with media as a roving reporter for Sky Sports Sports Saturday Show and as a guest for ITV London Tonight and Sky News. He holds Ambassador roles for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards and The Prince’s Trust, further demonstrating his commitment to youth development and community service. His personal inspirations are his late mother, Mona, who passed away on December 16th, 2010, and his brother Richard, who passed on February 13th, 2006.
