Mike Bloomgren is an American football coach known for his work as a collegiate offensive coordinator and head coach, now serving as an offensive line coach in the NFL.

Michael Scott Bloomgren was born on January 25, 1977, in Tallahassee, Florida. He attended Florida High School and played college football as a tight end at Culver–Stockton College. He earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management from Florida State University in 1999, graduating magna cum laude. During his time at Florida State, Bloomgren also gained early experience as an undergraduate assistant for the linebackers. He furthered his education by earning a master’s degree in higher education administration with a 4.0 GPA from the University of Alabama, where he also served as a graduate assistant from 1999 to 2001.
Bloomgren’s coaching career progressed through various collegiate and professional roles. After his graduate studies, he worked as an assistant at Catawba College from 2002 to 2005, followed by a stint as offensive coordinator, offensive line, and special teams coach at Delta State University from 2005 to 2007. His transition to the NFL began with the New York Jets, where he served as an offensive quality control coach from 2007 to 2008 and later as an offensive assistant from 2009 to 2010. He returned to college football as the running game coordinator and offensive line coach at Stanford University in 2011, being promoted to offensive coordinator in 2013. During his tenure at Stanford, he coached notable players such as Christian McCaffrey, who set an NCAA all-purpose yards record. In 2018, Bloomgren took on his first head coaching role at Rice University, where he led the program until 2024, achieving two bowl appearances. In 2025, he returned to the NFL as the offensive line coach for the Cleveland Browns, bringing 26 years of coaching experience.
