Mike Lorenzo-Vera

Michaël Lorenzo-Vera was born on January 28, 1985, in Bayonne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, France. He embarked on his professional golfing career in 2005, initially competing on the Alps Tour, a European third-tier development tour. His early success included winning the Open International de la Mirabelle D’or in 2006, a title he had also secured as an amateur in 2005. This achievement, combined with finishing 4th on the Alps Tour Order of Merit, earned him a place on the Challenge Tour for the subsequent season.

In 2007, Lorenzo-Vera made significant progress on the Challenge Tour, recording eight top-ten finishes. He subsequently won the Apulia San Domenico Grand Final, setting a course record in the first round. This victory propelled him to the top of the Challenge Tour Rankings, guaranteeing his entry to the European Tour in 2008. His first season on the European Tour saw him finish as joint runner-up at the Volvo China Open, demonstrating his competitive capability at a higher level. During his career, he achieved a career-best 19th in the Race to Dubai in 2019, which included a third-place finish at the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai. He also attained a career-high Official World Golf Ranking of 64 on January 26, 2020.

After a career spanning two decades across various professional tours, Mike Lorenzo-Vera officially announced his retirement from professional golf in April 2025 at the age of 40. His final tournament was the Omega European Masters in Switzerland, where he concluded his extensive and notable career in the sport. Throughout his professional journey, he accumulated a total of 7 professional wins, including one on the Challenge Tour, four on the Alps Tour, one on the French Tour, and one other win. He represented France in various team competitions, including the European Boys’ Team Championship, Jacques Léglise Trophy, European Amateur Team Championship, and the World Cup in 2018.
