Mike Watson

Michael Watson, born in 1984, is a Canadian professional poker player from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. He began his career in online poker before achieving significant success in live tournaments. Watson is known by his online handles ‘SirWatts’ and ‘SirBusket’ and has established a reputation for calm decision-making at the table. His career trajectory showcases a continuous climb in the competitive world of professional poker, marked by consistent participation and high-level finishes in events globally.

Watson’s professional achievements include winning a World Poker Tour (WPT) title in July 2008 at the Bellagio Cup IV, where he secured $1,673,770. He has also captured two European Poker Tour (EPT) titles, winning the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in 2016 for over $700,000 and the EPT Monte Carlo main event in 2023 for €749,425. This made him one of only a few players to win two EPT main events. In July 2024, Watson earned his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet by winning the $1,000 No-Limit Hold ‘Em 6-Max Online Championship.

This WSOP bracelet completed his ‘Triple Crown’ in poker, a designation for players who have won a WPT title, an EPT title, and a WSOP bracelet. He is the tenth player to achieve this milestone.
