Mikey Wax – stage name Middle Child as of May 2021 – is an American musician and singer-songwriter who is best known for his hit singles “Counting on You” and “You Lift Me Up”. Having been a name on the music scene for over a decade, Mikey Wax has had his music featured in some of the most popular television shows including The Ghost Whisperer, Keeping Up With The Kardashians and Pretty Little Liars, as well as in NBC’s coverage of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. ¬His music has even been used on over 50 NBA games televised on FOX Sports. An exceptionally talented instrumentalist and performer, he has had the opportunity to tour with artists such as Parachute, Rachel Platten and Tyler Hilton, and continues to make new music today.
He specialises in infectiously catchy pop music which is used in advertisements for some of the biggest brands in the world, for example his song “Spaceman” was featured in a Nike ad in 2017, and his single “Helium” in a Hollister Co. online commercial. Starting out at the tender age of 8 while growing up in Long Island, New York, he was playing the piano and writing original songs at an incredibly early age and is often referred to as a piano prodigy. Shortly after leaving college in Nashville, he toured the country playing small house concerts and enjoyed opening for some of the biggest artists at the time.
Renowned for his ability to play the guitar and piano simultaneously, Mikey Wax is a unique musical talent who is a bona fide master at writing pop music without compromise on the quality of his lyricism. For the next phase of his musical career he has adopted the stage name Middle Child, and released his first single under the new name entitled “Burn Out” in 2021 alongside producer Jacob Lee, which was met with critical acclaim. An astonishing talent with seemingly no limit to his work ethic and versatility, it’ll be great to watch what new heights Mikey Wax reaches over the coming years.
