Milan Aleksic, born on May 13, 1986, in Belgrade, SFR Yugoslavia, embarked on a distinguished career in water polo that saw him become a prominent center back for both club and national teams. His early career began with VK Partizan, where he played from 2003 to 2012, marking the foundational years of his professional journey. During this period, Aleksic contributed to multiple Serbian Championship and Cup victories, showcasing his emerging talent and strategic play in the sport. His tenure at Partizan culminated in significant international club successes, including a LEN Euroleague championship and a LEN Super Cup title in 2011, solidifying his reputation as a key player.
Aleksic’s career progression saw him move to Szolnoki Vízilabda SC, Hungary, from 2012 to 2019, where he continued to accumulate club honors. With Szolnok, he secured another LEN Champions League title in 2016–17 and multiple Hungarian Championship and Cup wins, further demonstrating his impact on club performance at the highest level. Following this, he joined CN Atlètic-Barceloneta in Spain from 2019 to 2021, where he added Spanish Championship and Copa del Rey titles to his extensive list of achievements, underscoring his adaptability and sustained excellence across different competitive environments.
Internationally, Aleksic achieved remarkable success with the Serbia men’s national water polo team. He is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, winning in 2016 (Rio de Janeiro) and 2020 (Tokyo), and an Olympic bronze medalist from 2012 (London). His national team career also includes two FINA World Championships gold medals in 2009 (Rome) and 2015 (Kazan), alongside numerous European Championship gold medals in 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018.
