About

Miles Heizer was born on May 16, 1994, in Greenville, Kentucky. His early life involved performing in community theater productions. At the age of ten, his family relocated to Los Angeles to support his acting career. Heizer began his professional career with guest appearances in television shows such as “Ghost Whisperer,” “Shark,” “Bones,” and “Private Practice.”

In 2007, Heizer gained recognition for his role as Davey Danner in the film “Rails & Ties,” which earned him a Young Artist Award nomination. That same year, he had a recurring role as Joshua Lipnicki in the NBC medical drama “ER.” A significant turning point in his career came in 2010 when he was cast as Drew Holt in the NBC drama series “Parenthood,” a role he maintained until the series concluded in 2015.

Heizer’s career continued to progress with prominent roles in feature films like “Nerve” (2016) and “Love, Simon” (2018). From 2017 to 2020, he played the main role of Alex Standall in the Netflix original series “13 Reasons Why.” More recently, Heizer took on the lead role of Cameron Cope in the 2025 Netflix series “Boots,” based on a memoir about a gay teenager enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps. His work in “Boots” earned him a nomination for a Queerties Award. Beyond acting, Heizer has partnered with brands like Gap and Coach for various campaigns.
