Miroslav Barnyashev is a professional wrestler who is Bulgarian-American. He is a one-time AEW TNT Champion and is signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he goes by the ring name Miro. He was most recognized for his 10-year career as Rusev in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE); he was the first and only Bulgarian wrestler to work for WWE. He has three times held the WWE United States Championship and is widely regarded as one of the company’s most underappreciated performers, having been chosen as such in 2017. Over the course of his career, he has received numerous awards, including “Most Improved,” “Best Gimmick,” and the Slammy Award for “Match of the Year” in 2017.
“Countdown,” “Scooby-Doo,” “WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon,” and “Another Version of You” are among Barnyashev’s cinematic credits. He also had a recurring role as himself on the reality television show “Total Divas,” which gave fans a look into the personal and professional lives of female WWE wrestlers. He is married to Catherine Perry, also known as the Lana, a professional wrestler who appears on the show.
Barnyashev was released from his WWE contract in April 2020, and he went on to maintain a prominent Twitch streaming channel with over 80 thousand followers. In September 2020, he returned to professional wrestling, this time with AEWm, but this time under the moniker Miro, a play on his first name Miroslav.
