Munjarin Mahbub Abony is an engineer, entrepreneur, model, social worker, and dancer, known for her achievements in beauty pageants and humanitarian efforts. After becoming World Miss University Bangladesh in 2015, Munjarin Mahbub Abony went on to place in the Top 15 at World Miss University 2016 in China, representing her country as a peace ambassador. Her career also features extensive work as a model, debuting in an advertisement for Grameen Phone and subsequently collaborating with leading brands such as Aarong, Ecstasy, Cats Eye, and Amishee. An accomplished dancer, Abony completed a Kathak Dance Course from 2006-2012, including workshops under Pandit Birju Maharaj, and a Contemporary Dance Course from 2012-2017.
She has received numerous accolades for her dance, including 1st prize at the Global Female Folk Dance Competition (2013), 1st prize at the Surin International Folklore Festival (2012), and awards at the International Dance n Drum Festival in Kuala Lumpur (2014), the Indian Theater Olympiad in Cuttack (2012), and the International Theater Festival in India (2011). She has also represented Bangladesh in dance performances at folk festivals across 19 countries. Abonys pageant success continued in 2019 when she won the inaugural Mrs. Bangladesh title, competing against over 2,000 participants.
She has also collaborated with Save the Children on a national campaign to advocate for improved maternal healthcare practices. Most recently, Abony further solidified her global presence by securing the title of Mrs Universe Bangladesh in 2024. Her continued work as a Mrs World Ambassador since 2020 underscores her ongoing dedication to leveraging her platform for social good, making her a compelling figure in entertainment and philanthropy.
